Tennessee (TN) Lottery
On April 12, 2000, majorities from the Tennessee House of Representative and Senate approved a legislation that would allow Tennessee residents to vote on the creation of a state lottery.
In a referendum on November 5, 2002, 58% of Tennesseans voted to permit lottery in the state. Then on June 11, 2003, Gov. Phil Bredesen signed into law the creation of the Tennessee Lottery.
The first Tennessee Lottery instant games were sold on December 29, 2003. The games include Tennessee Millionaire, Lucky 7's, $100,000 Jackpot and Tennessee Treasures.
Then on January 20, 2004, the on-line Tennessee Lottery is opened selling $10.8 million worth of tickets on its first day.

Carl Tackett of Clinton won $52,000 from the instant game Weekly Grand
Erika Torres of Harvest, Alabama won $10,000 for playing Powerball
