Maryland (MD) Lottery

Since the Maryland Lottery's inception in 1973, it contributed more than $9.724 billion to the State of Maryland to support public programs and services including education, safety, health, and the environment.

Over $13.745 billion has been also returned to players in the form of prizes. In 2006 alone, the Maryland Lottery contributed over $501 million to the State of Maryland, while paying players more than $902 million in prizes.

• Gilbert Stewart of Montgomery County won $50,015 playing Bonus Match 5

• Norman Wagner, from Hampstead, won the $20,000 for playing the Heads or Tails scratch-off ticket.
